Unexpected Uses For Activated Charcoal Powder
Activated charcoal is a powerful natural remedy used to flush toxins and unwanted chemicals out of the body. While activated charcoal can come from a variety of different sources, it’s important to choose an activated charcoal made from coconut shells or another natural source.
So what can activated charcoal be used for?
If you’ve noticed your teeth are stained from drinking coffee, tea, or wine, you can use activated charcoal to help whiten your teeth back to their normal color. Activated charcoal also helps to promote good oral health by altering the pH balance inside of your mouth, preventing cavities, bad breath, and gum disease.
To use as a teeth whitener, simply wet your toothbrush and dip the wet bristles into powdered activated charcoal. Brush your teeth as normal. Swish and spit with water until your saliva is clear.
After a mosquito bite or bee sting, mix about a teaspoon of activated charcoal powder with about ½ Tablespoon of coconut oil. Apply the mixture to the bite/sting, cover with a bandage (to prevent staining), and reapply the mixture to the bite/sting every 30 minutes.
Mix 1 teaspoon of activated charcoal with about 2 teaspoons of aloe vera gel. Apply all over your face, avoiding your eyes and mouth. Let dry and then rinse off the mixture. The activated charcoal bind with the dirt and buildup that lead to acne. This mixture can also be used as a spot treatment for small blemishes.
